Wilma Brockington, VP Membership

Wilma Brockington is a human resources professional at Verizon Communications, a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, an International Coach Federation certified professional coach, CEO and Managing Partner of My Workplace Coach, and published author of three books (Cinnamon Girl Blues, Office Politics, and Been There, Done That: Lessons Learned on Love and Life from Women 55 and Better). In her current role at Verizon, she is responsible for managing day-to-day human resources activities, team building, executive/professional coaching, training, and project management in the Mid-Atlantic region. Prior to her position at Verizon, she was a human resources professional at the American Chemical Society, the world’s largest scientific membership association for chemists and chemical engineers where she was responsible for employment/staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, training/development, and employee activities.

Wilma earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Towson University, a Master of Science degree in Management and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Maryland University College, and a graduate certificate in Executive and Professional Coaching from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is also a graduate of Leadership – Baltimore County.

Wilma also serves on the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations including New Pathways, Inc., the Black Writers’ Guild of Maryland, and All Shades of Pink
